• Kaye opposes Governor’s sanctioned workplace discrimination

Delegate Kory would like to offer the following statement in opposition to he Governor’s refusal to renew the executive order to ban discrimination against public employees on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity:

”All Virginians deserve equal rights.  Denying basic rights to those Virginians who are gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender is morally wrong.  I think that the new governor has implicitly sanctioned workplace discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation by refusing to renew the anti-discrimination executive order that Governor Kaine issued in 2006. SB66 would present a legislative solution and the fate of that bill now lies with the House General Laws Committee.  I have signed on as a co-patron of SB66 and will support it.”
